1. Is there a minimum quantity I have to order? The per-piece prices quoted on our site are guaranteed based on an order minimum of 36 pieces per design. At this time we are not printing below minimums with some exception to samples for larger order runs or rush orders. Please email us with your inquiry and we'd be glad to discuss your specific order needs.
..
2. What does 1 ink on front or back mean? This means you can choose any 1 color ink you can possibly think of and we will print it on one side of the garment. You choose, either front or back, we don't care. All inks are quality plastisol inks, the industry standard for t-shirt printing. View examples of ink colors here
..
3. Can I have more than 2 ink colors printed? Can I print on both front and back of the same shirt? What about the sleeve/shoulder/hoody/pant leg? Sure! We can do most anything you want; 3,4,5,6 colors, front, back, sleeve, chest, side, bottom, whatever! We only listed prices for 1or 2 color ink on front and back because really, these are the most common orders people place, and listing every single option of what's possible would be endless (and tiring to read)! Please email us and we'd be happy to give you a quote!
..
4. What about special effects? Can you do distressed tees? Sure! Adding distressing to your image is only an additional .25 cents per shirt, see some examples here. We also offer glow in the dark inks, sueded fuzzy inks, shimmer inks and more.
..
5. How should I create or send you my artwork for the best result? Well, there are lots of different ways, but here are a few:

FORMATS:

We accept the following PC & MAC* formats:

-Photoshop (FLATTEN LAYERS!)

-Illustrator (CONVERT ALL FONTS TO CURVES!)

-TIFF / EPS / JPEG / GIF / PNG / PDF (300-600 DPI!)

* When sending MAC files, please be sure to save it for "PC" and that there is an extension (e.g. "filename.ai" or "filename.psd" on the file name)

Your file can be emailed to us info@newyorkcityink.com . We also accept files sent by mail on CD or DVD. All snail mail disks should be accompanied by paper proof. Please be sure to label your disks with filename, format, and your name & phone number.

SIZE Sizing your artwork to the scale of the print size or larger is preferred. But if you prefer we can easily reduce or increase your artwork to fit the size you specify. Our Largest print size is 14" high and/or wide.

DESIGN Set all type to at LEAST 10 points. If you want a negative image printed, we can reverse your artwork — no problem, no extra charge.

CONVERT ALL FONTS TO CURVES or include them with your file! This is extremely important and a vital step. (For users of Illustrator, and similar programs). In Photoshop, using the Flatten Image command before saving will do the same thing.

Unless you're really comfy with your Photoshop skills, don't use the Photoshop filters that make your artwork fuzzy - it's almost guaranteed to end up costing you more if we have to spend hours fixing up and sharpening/vectorizing your artwork. More to the point, if you're not very comfy with your computer skills, keep your image limited to true hard edges and 'spot colors', and stay away from blurriness altogether. ***This does not apply to photorealistic, rendered images, or halftone images, which we can print for you also.

***If you are emailing us your image, please make sure the minimum resolution is at least 300 dpi. We can accept any Photoshop/illustrator file, as well as .jpg's and .tif's. It should be clean, clear, and not pixilated.

Don't forget we will always email you a digital color proof before we print your full order (customer supplied placement proofs are also accepted, please email proof with your artwork)

6. Huh? I don't really understand all that crap in question 5. Can you just design a shirt for me? I need some for my family reunion/rock band/company outing/promotion/little league team? Sure we can! Our talented art department can whip up a custom one of a kind design for any order! They are very friendly and would be glad to create something for you, see some examples here. Usually if it's just standard text layout/design it's free of charge. For more detailed custom designs with a custom graphic there is an extra charge due to the extra time and attention it requires, but we are very competitive at $40 an hour. Standard designs/layout usually can be created in 1/2 to 1 hour's time. Please email us your request and we will get back to you with a quote.

7. I just have a band name/businesses card/logo/sketch on a napkin/doodle that I want printed on a shirt. What do I do? No problem! You can just mail or fax us your design, we'll take a look at it and go from there. Or if you have a scanner, just scan it to us -  remember, it has to be a minimum resolution of 300 dpi or more and save it as a .tif - and we'll see what we can do. Just keep in mind the less 'print ready' and more 'clean up' your image needs, it may require an extra charge. Nobody likes that, so try mooching off that artist friend who owes you one! Otherwise we'd be happy to do it for an extra (small) charge. Please email us with your request, we are very reasonable :)
..
